ネパール被災地より続報です。8月の洪水によって大きな被害を受けたサカルプラという村で、安全な水へのアクセスがなく、妊婦か授乳中のお母さんがいる世帯訪問を開始しています。
町の中心部から村への交通手段が限られているため、Tuktukで浄水器や物資を運搬しています。住民がいままで手にしたことのない浄水器の使用方法について、現地の言葉を話す専門スタッフのチームが一軒一軒まわって時間をかけて説明し、家の環境に応じて設置を行います。どの家庭も、病気を予防するためにきれいな水を使うことについて意識が高く、熱心にチームの説明に聞き入っていました。

[Nepal Relief Project: A Follow-Up Update]
Our team is in the village of Sakalpara, which was heavily affected by the floods last August. As people in the village don’t have access to safe water, the team begun the mission by visiting homes in which pregnant or nursing mothers reside, then moving to all other homes.
Local transportation is limited in this area, and so the team carries water filters and other materials by Tuktuk.
In each home, the local team raises awareness about the importance of drinking safe water, provides the family with a water purification system and trains the family members in operating the system.
