「若さは力」
昨日の朝、若いリーダーたちは被災地にある古民家をリフォームする組織を設立した23歳の大学生、田中惇敏さんに会いました。
田中さんは被災からの体験を話し、「若さは力」失敗を恐れるのではなくいま行動に移すことと、若者たちを勇気づけました。
昼食後、唐桑半島ビジターセンターを訪れ、地域を襲った津波について学びました。
そのご、ネパールの若者たちは近くで海を見るのが初めてだったので、海岸近くで短い停車をしました。
午後、ホテル望洋へ移動し、加藤瑛一氏から気仙沼を襲った津波とその後の経験をお話しいただきました。

“Youth is power”.
Yesterday morning, the young leaders met Tanaka Atsutoshi, a 23 y/o university student who established an organization that renovates old houses in disaster areas.
Tanaka san shared his experience since the disaster and encouraged the youth to take action today, not to be afraid to fail : “youth is power”.
After lunch, the youth visited the Karakuwa visitor center and learned about the tsunami that hit the region.
We made a brief stop on near a sea-shore : for the Nepali youth, it was the first time they could see the ocean so close (for their reaction, see the photos below!)
In the afternoon, we traveled to Hotel Boyo where the youth held a talk with Kato Eiichi, who shared his own experience during and after the tsunami hit his home town of Kesennuma.
What a day!
