Community Building Project [English Follows]

10月22日に、サポート・センターとみおか（岩手県 大船渡市）で、第二回目ネパール文化交流会を開催しました。

隣接する仮設住宅の住民、元仮設住民、地域の方々など、様々な境遇にある方々が集う交流の場です！今回は、ネパール地震の深刻な影響についても、ネパール人スタッフのビゼイからお話しさせていただきました。参加者はネパールについて興味津々。その後のモモ（ネパール風餃子）作りとお茶タイムでは、チリ地震津波の経験、今でも3.11については語ることができないことなど、大切なお話しを共有いただきました。「東北の震災では本当に色んな国の色んな人達にお世話になった。このことを、私は死ぬまで忘れないし、次世代にも伝えていく」と参加者からのありがたいお言葉。再来を約束して、笑顔の皆さんをお見送りしました。またお邪魔します！

“So many people from so many countries lent a hand after the Tohoku disaster. I will never forget it, and make an effort to tell that to the next generation”, said one participants at the Community Building workshop held on October 22.

JISP conducted the second Nepal Cultural Exchange at Tomioka Support Center, Ōfunato city. The center serves as a meeting place for people residing in the temporary houses near-by, former residents of the temporary houses as well as residents of the city.

This time, JISP Nepali staff-member Bijay had shared the experience of last year’s earthquake in Nepal with the participants. The participants showed great interest in the story and in Nepal as a whole.

Later on we all made Momo (Nepali goyza), and spoke about different things related to disasters while having too.

Near the end, we made a promise to return soon, and said goodbye to everyone with a smile. See you again!
